Four people were killed and 13 others were injured on May 18, when ISIS terrorists carried out a brutal attack on a small town in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

In an official statement, Sinai Tribes Union, a tribal coalition supporting government forces, said that a group of well-armed terrorists raided the town of al-Ajalin, east of the city of al-Sheikh Zuweid in northern Sinai.

After storming the town, the terrorists opened fire at civilians. Eventually, a number of local fighters confronted the terrorists, forcing them to run away.

Local sources in al-Ajalin told the London-based Asharq al-Awsat newspaper that ISIS terrorists attacked the town in order to loot civilians’ houses. According to the sources, the attackers were at least ten.

On May 20, ISIS’ news agency, Amaq, released photos of the attack. The terrorist group falsely claimed that the attack target “border guards” of the Egyptian Armed Forces who were “looting” civilians houses in al-Ajlan.
